Behind every hum of a server and flicker of fluorescent light, there’s a system you rarely see—and a team that quietly ensures it never fails.
In a high-stakes operation involving the full replacement of two UPS systems powering a critical Maltese facility, Constant Power Solutions (CPS) once again demonstrated why they’re considered Malta’s most trusted authority in uninterruptible power systems.
But this story isn’t only about technology—it’s about people. About trust. And about the rare opportunity to document a mission that’s as technically demanding as it is logistically precise.
A Personal Connection, A Professional Challenge
I’ve known Sandro, the founder of CPS, for quite some years now. He used to supply UPS systems to a company I worked with, and he always stood out for his professionalism, attention to detail, and integrity. So when he approached me to document this installation, I was genuinely excited—but I also felt the weight of responsibility. Not only because of the significance of the job, but because I wanted to do right by a long-time friend who trusted me with something important.
This wasn’t a typical assignment. The location was tight, with very limited space for lighting setups or movement. Angles were hard to find. Timing was even harder. But these constraints forced me to work smarter, observe more deeply, and push my creativity. The result is a collection of images I’m proud of—not just because of how they look, but because of what they represent.

From Hobbyist to Lifeline
Sandro’s journey into power electronics didn’t begin with a business plan. It began with a passion.
Back in the 1990s, while still working at Enemalta, he spent his free time building chargers, power supplies, and inverters. In 1999, he took on a UPS sales role at Elektra Ltd., applying his hands-on technical knowledge in a commercial setting. Over the next five years, he learned the market inside out—its gaps, its demands, and its potential.
In 2005, with that knowledge and a vision to offer Malta something better, he founded Constant Power Solutions. The mission? To deliver reliable, high-performance power protection tailored to Malta’s unique demands.
80 Batteries, 6 Hours, Zero Downtime
The task was surgical in nature: replace 80 batteries (12V 88Ah)—40 per UPS unit—with zero disruption to operations.
UPS batteries degrade with age, typically within 5–10 years. If left unattended, they become a silent risk—one that could lead to catastrophic data loss or infrastructure failure. That’s why CPS acts proactively, graphing battery performance during scheduled maintenance and replacing units the moment their capacity begins to drop.
This particular replacement was done in just six hours. Not a single system was left exposed. Step by step, one UPS at a time, CPS delivered seamless continuity—backed by years of experience, technical precision, and a calm sense of urgency.
Success Isn’t Guesswork
For CPS, reliability isn’t a guess—it’s measured, monitored, and guaranteed.
Every new battery is benchmarked against manufacturer data. A full discharge test is performed. Mains power is restored only once a 100% charge is confirmed. Voltage, current, and system behavior are tracked throughout.
This is what it means to deliver “peace of mind” not just as a slogan, but as a deliverable.
Photography in Tight Spaces, High Stakes
Photographing this job was no walk in the park. The confined space limited movement. The gear had to be positioned with surgical care. I needed to capture emotionless precision and human focus—while staying invisible myself.
But in every challenge, there was growth. Every lighting constraint sparked a new idea. Every angle taught me to see the story from a different perspective.
The result is a photo set that doesn’t just document a task—it tells the story of a company that runs like the systems it maintains: quietly, efficiently, without fail.
A Brand That Speaks Without Saying Much
CPS doesn’t shout. It doesn’t need to.
The company has represented Riello and CSB batteries for nearly two decades, and its reputation is built on competence, consistency, and care. Uniforms, colour schemes, and visual identity all reflect this: clean, functional, reliable.
Their motto—“The peace of mind you deserve”—isn’t an aspiration. It’s the expectation. And through the images we created together, that message now lives visually—on social media, in internal comms, and soon across their digital platforms.
Final Thoughts
Constant Power Solutions is more than a UPS provider. It’s an invisible partner in Malta’s most essential operations. And like any unsung hero, its strength lies in being there when it matters—and in being invisible when it’s done right.
As a photographer, I live for these quiet stories—the ones happening behind closed doors, far from the spotlight, but pulsing with purpose.
This shoot reminded me that what you don’t see is often the most important thing of all.
